Free Halloween fonts licensed to make your skin crawl

Let’s get spooky! Halloween is around the corner: On October 31, witches, ghosts and zombies will stalk the streets again. For this occasion, we have put together a number of free “spooky” fonts which you can use for your Halloween projects such as party invitations, flyers or admission tickets.

By the time October rolls around, spiders, zombies, witches and jack-o’-lanterns are all over supermarkets and set the mood for the popular Celtic festival also known as All Hallows‘ Eve. Background knowledge: Halloween has its roots in Ireland and not as is often believed in the USA. It was originally a pagan festival marking the end of summer and the beginning of winter. Dressed up in scary costumes, the ancient Celts paraded around the streets to ward off evil spirits already around 2,000 years ago. Irish immigrants brought the tradition to the USA where it has become what we know as Halloween today.

Capture the spirit of Halloween on paper

As every year, children in costumes will walk from house to house yelling “Trick or treat” to get lots of candy. Scary decorations are put up in stores and homes turn into haunted houses to set the mood for spooky Halloween parties and also businesses increasingly use Halloween themed designs for their marketing and products. The authentic look is created with colours, images and fonts that are reminiscent of tombstone inscriptions or replicate the dripping look of the “Rocky Horror Picture Show” credits. Other fonts use letters made up of skeletons. Get your spook on with our selection of Halloween fonts to create custom-designed invitations, flyers and promotional items. In addition to the fonts for private use, we also present a selection of fonts for commercial use.
