Maximum colour application
The maximum total colour application is derived from the sum of the individual colour channels.
Colour application = C + M + Y + K
Example based on a dark brown area with the following values:
80 % Cyan, 100 % Magenta, 100 % Yellow and 50 % Black.
This results in a total colour application as follows:
80 % C + 100 % M + 100 % Y + 50 % K = 330 %
Due to production constraints, a maximum total colour application of 330 % ("ISO Coated v2", for coated paper) is possible. For uncoated paper ("PSO uncoated"), the max. threshold is 300 %. But you would be on the safe side if you use a maximum of 300 % for both coated and uncoated paper. Please notice: For best results, reduce to a maximum of 260 % total colour application when you choose high-speed and express printing options. The high colour application and short drying time may cause smudging onto the next sheet of printed material.
Summary:
- Maximum colour application of 300%.
- Identical colour values can appear differently on different paper types (offset, art print paper).
